Grace Gummer

Feeling quite blessed as I've been getting lots of interest recently.
Here is one of the portrait commissions I was recently booked for: it was for Grace Gummer.
We decided we would shoot for a bit in Dane John parks in Canterbury, and then go to a Chocolate Cafe later on.
Below are the four images Grace and her family picked for me to sort out for her :)
I was using an 80-200 2.8f Nikkor lens & my favourite 24-70 2.8f lens too.
Such good lenses.

St.Georges Staff

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking pictures of around 10 of the Churches staff (I had to be included in this, which was embarrassing, cos' I don't like other people taking my photograph really..). Here're the photo's I shot!

This next month I'm going to be making a few changes, developments, and hopefully improvements:
- More content to each post (hopefully)
- Monthly video blog on what's happening (possibly)
- Advice on shooting & editing (potentially)
- A new home for my blog: tumblr or something (maybe)
- Different, more simplistic design (perhaps)
- A bible passage after each post (if I remember)

So yeah! Expect a bit of change.

Tomorrow I head up to Wales for the final time: i'll be on location one of the days, doing God knows what (MAYBE MAKING SNOWMEN).

..
chill out..

And i'll be shooting Pride & Greed with Ryo Love!
Can't wait to release the other shots I've produced with her, I'm so pleased, will show you the different layers that involved the images too.

THEN.
That'll be the end of my PhotoTraining4U Apprenticeship?
Wow.

I'll say goodbye nearer the time, but while I think about it, I'd hugely appreciate supportive prayers.

If you're reading this, why not send me an email? Let me know what you think of these posts :) tomkeenanphotography@hotmail.co.uk

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9

(Thought I'd begin that last point)

Snow Self Portraits.

So, though at the mo' snow blows below our 'fros and crows freeze their noses, toes froze and woes arose as I goes to pose.. in snow...

...

uhh...

What?

I did some self portraits in the snow, as locations were not on my side with fashion shoots recently.

HERE THEY ARE.

Obstacles.

Cor'.
Past couple of weeks have been rather difficult trying to organise a shoot!
First choice location saying yes.. then to maybe... and then to a more non-responsive approach. Quite confusing and disappointing!
Similar story with the second location.
I'm sure they're busy businesses, so I respect that whole heartedly.

So I spoke with Lucy Jayne, MUA, and we decided that we'd rather meet up and plan new ideas for the future than rush this next 24hours after having minimal success with the response of others.

Quite exciting end result yes please!

p.s: ... think I'm going to start doing HD monthly video blogs... Will keep you posted!

Temperature & Thank You Note

Not long until my final visit to PhotoTraining4U!
Feels like just yesterday I got through to the top 40.. Never thought I'd get this far.

So I had a portraiture commission yesterday that went really well: funny enough ended up choosing the same area to shoot as my fellow photographer Olly Knight! How odd?
I came across an obstacle that I hadn't before though: the sudden change in temperature..
Being January it is flipping cold in England, as you well know, but I had no idea going from shooting in a park to a warm chocolate shop would affect my lenses so much!
As we got in and casually went upstairs, I got out my 1.4 50mm lens... Realised it was completely misted up! Thought something had gone wrong with it, so I put it back in my bag. Reached for my 24-70, and the same happened!?
I resorted to trying to wipe away the fog... Nope. Didn't work.
So I just had to wait for it to sort itself out!?

What a dilemma.

It's not really a huge problem, but I'd never come across this before. Thank God the photo's came out alright though!

CHANGING THE SUBJECT -

A little while ago I did a fashion shoot revolving around Androgyny (Quite inspired by a few Mert & Marcus photo's), and I thought to thank the location for letting me use the space I'd print them off a thank you note..

Here it is!

Vogue Approved Polaroid

Was going to post it yesterday.. But I did say it'd be my last post of 2012 (my summary) so thought I'd stick to that ;)

Anyway, had one of my Androgyny polaroids approved by Italian Vogue yesterday.

Here it is:
